Wanted: Yahoo! Sports Olympics Blogger
Published 5/30/2008 by Jamie Mottram at Mr. Irrelevant
Since last October, Yahoo! Sports has been hiring bloggers for and building a blogs & community foundation with new sites such as Ball Don’t Lie, Shutdown Corner, From the Marbles, Big League Stew, The Dagger, Puck Daddy and Roto Arcade. We’ll continue doing that with new blogs for college football, MMA and more (probably soccer, golf, etc.) upcoming. One thing giving us trouble, however, is what to do with the Olympics, and that’s where you come in. We’re looking to hire a temporary-yet-full-time blogger for August (and perhaps a bit longer) to cover ...

... One of the features I really like on From the Marbles, is author Jay Busbee's knack for egging on the Fringe. The "Junior is Elvis" Cult, the conspiracy theorists, and the xenophobes all gather in the From the Marbles comment section, and it is always interesting and very funny to see the interaction among the various forms of fanaticism. If watching whackos engage in futile combat isn't your thing, you can always forgo the comments section and read some very thoughtful, insightful, and interesting commentary on NASCAR racing by Jay Busbee, Bob Margolis, ...

The Blogosphere's Favorite Baseball Teams

... Sosa-led Cubs in the Division Series, their bats went in the cooler. And even going down 0-3 in the NLCS to the Padres, it looked like they, not the 2004 Red Sox, would be the first baseball team to rally from a three-game deficit. But it wasn't to be; the Braves ended up losing Game 6. And of all the might-have-beens in Atlanta Braves history--and oh, are there many--this one still stings the most. Next to Lonnie Smith, of course." - Jay Busbee, Right Down Peachtree, Yahoo! Sports' From The Marbles and the author of The Quiet Dynasty: The Inside Story of ...

We asked a gaggle of writers, from the Web, from print, from books, to tell us, in as many or as little words as they need, Where Their Team Stands. This is not meant to be factual, or dispassionate, or even logical: We just asked them to riff on why they love their team so much, or what their team means to them, or whatever. Humorless at Yahoo NASCAR

Darren Fauth from OneBadWheel has started blogging over at Yahoo! Sports on the From The Marbles NASCAR Blog. One of his posts today was Caption this NASCAR photo. Now I’m sure that anyone who’s been around the Internet for a day or longer has seen a post like this one. The photo isn’t paticularly funny by itself, but with a catchy caption it can become something entirely different, and funny. Well some of the more serious NASCAR fans missed the “caption this photo” memo and took it to heart that another idiot ...
