Kevin: K-Rod t-shirt ($28) is four dollars more than David Wright t-shirt. Omar has put his money in the bullpen to try to match up with Lidge after Mets blew 29 saves in 2008. As a member of the Brewers he was a .300 hitter with speed and played solid defense. He was the #2 batter for the 1992 Brewers run at the Division, batting .298 with 41 steals. Later, after being let go by the Mets he claimed to have placed a Hex on the team. It seems to have worked. ... Geoff Jenkins, OF, Milwaukee Brewers. Not only does the former first-round pick out of USC have a cool name, he’s had a pretty good career as well. In 10 seasons with the Brewers, Jenkins has hit .277/.347/.496 in 4932 plate appearances. He made the National League All-Star team in 2003 and ranks second only to Hall of Famer Robin Yount with 212 home runs in a Brewers uniform. ...

... Both likely would be assets for 2008, and neither will require anything close to the five-year, $60 million deal Aaron Rowand signed with the Giants last week. Jenkins would be shifting from left field to right, and his offensive numbers are trending down as he heads into his mid-30s, but he still slugged .482 against righties in 2007. Perhaps more of a concern is that he hit a robust .289/.359/.532 in Milwaukee's Miller Park, but just .224/.282/.416 everywhere else. Jenkins might be more likely to accept a one-year deal than Cameron. ...

But there are other Japanese players out there to sign if this is the sticking point. A few Japanese relievers on the block, Tadahito Iguchi and the starting pitcher Kuroda to name a few. Rays Talking to Geoff Jenkins

Hat tip to Gavind for beating me to it. From ESPN via MLBTR  it appears the team is pursuing the 32 year old left handed bat of Geoff Jenkins to replace Delmon Young in right field. Jenkins is coming off his worst season in quite a while, hitting .255/.319/.471 - that's a better OPS than Delmon last year, mind you - and only had a VORP of 8.9. There had been a lot of talk about Jenkins landing in Detroit, but apparently the teams interested don't include the Tigers but rather the Cubs, Padres, Giants, Rangers, and Royals. Not sure how much he'll be ...
