The Sox lost to Toronto in the 1993 playoffs and then next year got jobbed when the baseball playoffs were cancelled due to the strike (1994). The Cubs were the wild card team in 1998, losing to the Braves. To get there we beat Dusty Baker’s Giants in a one game playoff to end the regular season. Neifi Perez’ HR for the Rockies saved the Cub’s proverbial ’98 season fanny, both were to get their revenge on us fans in the next decade.
