Day Two: Wild Night in St. Paul
Published 4/10/2009 by The Falconer at Bird Watchers Anonymous
... I'll have more comments after the game. At the moment I'm just down the street at Dunn Bros Coffee having a humongous cup of hot chocolate. Everyone in Minnesota seems to think that temperatures in the high 40s to be a "spring heat wave" as I see many locals strolling about in t-shirts.
Before heading into the game I plan to check out Tom Reid's Hockey City Pub owned by a former NHLer Tom Reid (click here for his career stats). It was recommended to me by SB Nation's Wild blogger.
I have to say that I'm favorably impressed with downtown St. ...

It all comes down to this; with a win tonight, the Preds can not only eliminate Minnesota from the playoff hunt (take that, Craig Leipold!), but put pressure on St. Louis and Anaheim to keep Nashville out.

Flames @ Wild - Good News, Bad News

... Enemy Perspective: Hockey Wilderness
No need to dwell on the Wild, who by this time are well known by Flames fans and haven't changed much since the last clash (besides getting Koivu back into the line-up).
Instead, let's go good news/bad news for the pre-game this evening:
Bad news: Aucoin, Regehr and Sarich are all out, meaning the Flames new top defensive unit is Phaneuf/Leopold, making Vandermeer Pardy #2. Yikes.
Good news: Aucoin won't be playing.
Bad news: Flames have one win and ...

The talk of the town is about how the Flames lost against the Sharks last night and the Canucks now have a chance to take over the Northwest Division lead....finally. But to do so they will have to beat yet another team in Minnesota that is fighting for it's life to earn a playoff spot. The Wild are 3 points behind the 8th place Blues. St. Louis has won 5 straight. The ...

Selection Sunday will be held on CBS tomorrow afternoon. Some "experts" believe the Gophers are a lock for the tournament, but did that (expected) loss to the Spartans hurt them any? We'll find out soon enough...
