... two top ten finishes for the batting title in a Tampa Bay uniform, drove in 100 runs twice and actually got a few points in an MVP vote (unheard of in pre 2008 Tampa Bay.) So why is he at first base? Because I went through the entire history of the Tampa Bay Rays. Chad Cordero, RP: A torn labrum cost the Nationals closer almost all of his 2008 season. No matter, Chad, you weren't going to get many opportunities to save games.
Dontrelle Willis, SP: Constantly re-adjusting his jaunty hat, hoping to find that exact angle and bend of the brim that brought him so much success in 2005. Dontrelle needs to either rediscover his slider or go back to trade school.

Perhaps he can be pried loose without giving up Tim Alderson or Madison Bumgarner. Sanchez and Pucetas, perhaps Henry Sosa, too, for Zimmerman? Please, not Jorge Cantu. ...

Jumping on the Devil’s bandwagon!

... Gonzalez. I am through with this weak pitching staff.
Hey, Jose Canseco once played for the Devil Rays, right? This was totally meant to be. I even heard they have a Third Basemen who can hit, just like Mike Schmidt or at least Scott Rolen. He is a little dull, though. Come to think of it, the entire team is kind of boring and I don’t think I can get past the whole annoying “cowbell” thing they got going on.
Woah, wait a minute! Look at Jorge Cantu’s numbers, now look at Evan’s. You know what, I ...

Transaction Matter: Marlins Sign Jose Castillo

... While no one is going to come in and replace Miguel Cabrera’s offensive production, the Marlins have begun the search of finding his replacement. I honestly wonder why more teams did not have an interest in adding Elmer Dessens to the back of their rotation, his ceiling isn't much, but he won't give up 7 runs in 3 frames either. On the same note, the DevilRays continue to be the epitome of a team that simply has no plan. Based on a couple dozen spring AB's, it looks like BJ Upton will open the season at 2B and Jorge Cantu will open at AAA...no, I'm not kidding.
