One Shining Moment: The BYB Bracket Blowout Winner
Published 4/7/2009 by Ian Casselberry at Bless You Boys
... If you were just in it for the giggles, and we don't hear from you, I guess the prize will go to our runner-up. And perhaps that might provide some small consolation to Kurt, who is still nursing his wounded pride today. (Nothing blankets the soul like a BYB Gear t-shirt!) ...

Miguel Cabrera And Polanco are pretty Bad-ass. For Tigers. Line-up not scary Like last year. Maybe rename Team Detroit Kittens? Sidebar: I wrote this prior to Sheffield being released. Mixed emotions over Sheffield signing with rival Mets
Published 4/3/2009 by admin at Sportin a Attitude
I have mixed emotions about recently released Detroit Tigers outfielder Gary Sheffield signing with the New York Mets. On one-hand, I wanted the Phils to acquire the aging chatterbox to give me something interesting to write about at least once a week.
Then again, it has been reported that Sheffield has a reputation for being clubhouse cancer. If true at any level is something we definitively don’t need in Philadelphia after the Donovan McNabb-Terrell Owens ...

Jamie Samuelsen
Jamie Samuelsen, long time WDFN’r and more recently blogger for the Freep, starts his new gig on Monday. He’ll be joining the morning show on WRIF. Jamie has been a great supporter of this blog with numerous mentions on his former morning show on WDFN. Plus he’s one of the most reasonable voices in sports talk. So if you’re not already a WRIF listener, tune in Monday when Jamie makes his debut. You can listen in online.

... lot like Javy’s numers, save for .040 points on batting average. I’m going to go ahead and guess that he’s getting lucky in terms of balls in play. I can’t find a BABIP for him, but does have a LD% of 20.4% meaning the ball is getting hit pretty hard against him. I could, of course, be under estimating his ability once again, but we’ll have to wait see.

Someone Has to Win the Central…

... over a week ago. When it first came to me the Indians were in second place behind the Twins. Then they swept the A’s to take over first. Now, it’s the White Sox turn at the top. With all these teams bunched together the A.L. Central is wide open, with no team out of it. We asked bloggers from each team to tell us why their team WILL WIN the A.L. Central. Most of them replied reluctantly, because the baseball in the Central just hasn’t been that good this year. Up first is Kurt from Mack Avenue Tigers .
