Rich: MVP: Manny. No, not Corpas. Nice try.
Cy Young: The West has produced the last three NL Cy Young award winners: Webb in 2006, Peavy in 2007, and Lincecum in 2008. Let's make it four different pitchers in four years and give it to Haren in 2009.
Rookie of the Year: If it's not Fowler, the Rookie of the Year will not be coming from this division.
Jeremy: MVP: If Manny Ramirez does anything, the BBWAA will try to award him the MVP twice.

... Five years is a pretty damn large sample size and those differences are staggering. I can see a player's slugging percentage varying dramatically from home to away based on the dimensions and conditions of other parks, but his average and OBP are both far lower away from Coors. As friend of the blog Simon said on GChat yesterday, he's is like Manny Ramirez at home and Xavier Nady on the road. Look at those guys' stats. He's dead on. The good news for Holliday owners and A's fans is that his numbers on the road have continually improved ...

... this was his debut of 1993. He CRUSHED a homer to the opposite field. The place went nuts and my Dad and I looked at each other.
"That's going to be a good player!" My dad thought.
He wound up hitting 334 homers, most in Indians history and added 17 more in 11 post season series (including 7 post season shots against the Red Sox!)
We still talk about that 1993 homer every time Thome comes to bat.

Manny’s Staying In LA (He Loves It!)
Published 3/4/2009 by Chris at Intentional Foul
... As for the Dodgers, everyone knows what they are getting. When he’s dialed in and committed to playing hard, Manny is one of the best players in the league, defensive shortcomings be damned. But there are other times where Manny acts as petulant as the worst temper tantrum kid around. Just ask Boston. Here’s hoping, for Dodgers fans, that Manny is sufficiently satisfied and placated enough so his time in LA doesn’t (d)evolve into yet another “Manny Ramirez and his negative media circus.” ...

While LaRoche did get recalled on June 10, it was in more of a utility role as he spent a lot of time at first base rather than his normal third base position. It was becoming clear that LaRoche wasn’t really in the long-term plans for the Dodgers.
Then on July 31, LaRoche was reunited with his brother Adam as he was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates with pitcher Bryan Morris as part of the huge Manny Ramirez/Jason Bay trade. As a distant Pirates fan, I couldn’t have been ...

The Talk: The Giants are still considered a possibility to land free agent slugger Manny Ramirez . It's a longshot as they won't get into a bidding war with anybody and Manny's rumored to be asking for at least 3 years with $25 million per. The first being that Omar is pulling a sleeper move, and waiting till the days before single game tickets go on sale before acquiring the right handed slugger. Closing The Gaps: Left Field

Manny Ramirez is still on the free agent market, and the Dodgers still have a huge gap in left field. Given the sinking market for corner outfielders, the Dodgers seem to be in a great situation. So what are the options? Manny Ramirez He claims to be looking for 4 years and 100 million, but the Dodgers are his only real suitor thus far. It's looking more and more likely that the Dodgers can get him for 2 years at 22-23 million per year. So is that really a bargain or not? Well, it depends on which Manny you think the Dodgers will be getting. ...
