Published 2 days ago by GC at Can't Stop The Bleeding
... this afternoon, SNY’s “Mets Weekly” — of which MetsBlog’s Matthew Cerrone is a competent fixture — featured a segment in which a succession of notable Mets bloggers were shown enjoying the hospitality of a Shea Stadium luxury suite during last Sunday’s defeat to Florida. “Any good Mets fan stays current with the latest blogs” gushed hostess Joceyln Pierce, prior to SNY’s Ted Berg asking not one, but two bloggers, “why aren’t you in your parents’ basement?” ...

We hope that the lack of your usual dealer and supply for Jets-laced crack didn’t send you into too bad of a withdrawal. For now, know that we are on a rock solid server, helped by people who take pride in their work should issues again arise. Two Silver Linings
Published 10 days ago by Jason at Faith and Fear in Flushing
... It was a day that desperately needed a silver lining, and fortunately there was one -- a gathering of bloggers in SNY''s suite, set up through the kind auspices of MetsBlog's Matt Cerrone. (Thanks, Matt!) I couldn't stay for long -- had to get back to Emily, our friends and our overtired kid -- so wasn't able to meet everyone I wanted to meet or gawk at what life in a luxury suite is like, beyond noting that up there the beer is not only free but served in -- ooh la la -- glass bottles. (Greg, being more civilized, may have a fuller report.) But seeing Matt and the ...

... when they know it will only be for one start. That may be true - and it's an excellent point - but it still begs the question... are the Mets playing to win this year or not? I say they are playing for Omar's job and if that's the case, Stokes will be just fine. By the way - if the Mets know that John Maine isn't ready to come back when he's eligible to come off the DL... then they need to bring Niese up and stick him in the rotation immediately. I thought there was going to be a riot when Ruben Gotay was released and now Our Heinous Reyes is like the wunderkind. Oh, wait. Right. The White Sox. We are talking about the White Sox.
