Sixers lose on Tony Parker game-winner

Box Score
Pounding the Rock
If you didn't watch the game, the Sixers we're down 40-19 after the first quarter. San Antonio hit 15 threes. The Sixers battled back to tie it only to have their hearts broken by an offensive rebound followed by a game winner at the hands of Tony Parker. The shot was a difficult rainbow-fadeaway at the buzzer and it was absolutely devastating.
I'm in no condition to write a coherent recap, so I'll go with the good old, scrambled observations approach.

Getting back to the basketball, here's hoping for an entertaining game. Enjoy Christmas and we'll talk to you later.

... Every now and then we do these Q&As with other blogs. We have a great San Antonio Spurs blog here at SBNation in Pounding the Rock. Wayne took some time out of his holiday weekend to answer some of my questions. I have to say, his answer to #4 is one of the greatest answers we ever had in a Q&A. I'm going to give him a bit of a break on #5 as it was a knock on him early in his career. ...

... very late first round or second round picks. They even seem to have landed a steal this year with the choice of George Hill out of IUPUI.
Hell, even Crumbs Krause drafted "Scott" Pippen out of Central Arkansas, Ho. Grant, B.J. Armstrong, Toni Kukoc from the other side of the world, Ron Artest, Tyson Chandler and Elton Brand.
Point is...Do you really trust Paxson to put the pieces in place(as Dave Wannstedt would say)?

So be happy. It could be a LOT worse.

I wasn't going to comment much on Pargo's departure since Dave Berri covered it quite well statistically and Ryan Schwann covered the personal aspect of it excellently. But a few of you have e-mailed in the last week asking for my take things. So I shall oblige.
I definitely hate to see Jannero Pargo, the person, go. He was a terrific guy on the court and off of it, and I don't think you can find a single Hornet fan that didn't enjoy his wild gunning. I'm sure the rest of the Hornets are sad to see him go, and I'm sure the front office seriously considered re-signing him.
