NBA Blogger Power Rankings
Published 12/1/2008 by Carolyn at And One - cleveland.com
Empty the Bench tells us: Every week a group of NBA writers, including the dons here at ETB, take some time to take a look around the NBA and rank its teams 1-30, best to worst, winners to losers, champs to chumps, so that you can get an easy-to-dissiminate update on the current state of the league. As you'll see below, last year's NBA Finals participants are off to a combined record of 30-3 and remain the top two teams in the league; the league's worst two, the Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Clippers, are a combined 5-29. This week, the Cavs hover at #3: Cleveland Cavaliers (14-3) Queen City Hoops : ...

... the Pacers from playoff contention with two games to go.
So don't think I'm counting this W. Not the case with the Pacers this year, especially against Charlotte. Plus, there's a good chance Jason Richardson may return after missing the last seven games. Yeesh. Richardson gives the Bobcats their most explosive scorer and combines with Gerald Wallace to create all kinds of matchup problems.
Here are the Pacers.com matchups.

What Happens to Portland When Greg Oden is on the Court?
Published 11/25/2008 at ESPN.com - True Hoop - Blog
At least in a couple of notable games, the presence of Greg Oden on the court has led to some very poor play by the team -- even though Oden has played fairly well and has a PER that is among the best for all rookies or centers. What's going on? I don't really know. But thanks to Brett Hainline from Queen City Hoops, I have a very hot piece of information that at least gives us a composite sketch of the culprit. When Oden is on the floor, the Blazers are slightly better at offensive rebounding, and slightly worse at defensive rebounding. They turn the ball over quite a bit more (14.9% of the ...

Cavaliers Preview Game #2

... but while the Cavs did go 3-1 against the Bobcats last year, all 4 games were extremely close. The Bobcats are 3-12 against Cleveland all-time, but this is always an entertaining team to watch and they will not go away without a fight. A Daily Babble Production Welcome to the inaugural edition of the CelticsBlog NBA page's newest feature, Runnin' Fives. Over the course of the next few months, we'll be picking a five-man all-time team for each of the Association's thirty currently active franchises. The rules are simple : The goal is to put together the best possible standard five-man line-up (two guards, two forwards, one center, with some room for finagling if need be) for each team based on the performance of the players while with said team. For instance, it's hard to imagine Michael Jordan making the Washington squad or Karl Malone or Gary Payton ...

The kid will no doubt take his lumps in the NBA and his body might not be as NBA-ready as Alexander's, but for the Bucks to ever contend they will need to gamble sometime. Why not start now?
