For those of you who haven't heard of the Razzball leagues, it is a points based fantasy league where the goal is to try and assemble the worst possible team. The scoring is: Batting: At Bats (AB) 2 Hits (H) -3 Home Runs (HR) -10 Runs Scored (R) -4 Runs Batted In (RBI) -4 Strikeouts (K) 2 Pitching: Innings Pitched (IP) -1 Hits Allowed (H) 1 Walks Issued (BB) 1 Earned Runs ...

games than 100 and am staying away.
Fausto Carmona: No, I am not expecting him to repeat his 5.44 ERA & 1.62
WHIP from 2008 but if I am drafting a pitcher coming off that type of season
and hoping for a bounce back then I need more than just the lure of getting
a bunch of wins. The 4.33 K/9 from 2008 is brutal but the 5.73 K/9 of his
2007 glory year is not a whole lot better. I'm passing.

2009 Mets Fantasy Baseball Preview
Published 3/28/2009 by Grey at Fantasy Baseball Blog at Razzball.com
We at Razzball realize that exporting our views across the country has damaging consequences on the blogosphere. To help make amends, we are reaching out to leading team blogs and featuring their locally blogged answers to pressing 2009 fantasy baseball questions regarding their team. We feel this approach will be fresher, more sustainable, and require less energy consumption (for us anyway). The 2009 Mets Fantasy Baseball Preview comes courtesy of MetsBlog.

The Roto Arcade Pro-Am
Published 3/28/2009 by Andy Behrens at Roto Arcade
Last weekend, while lounging on my floral-print mattress and staring into a giant mirror, I said to myself, "You know, hotness, right now a draft would just feel so...delicious." Then I stretched and purred like a kitten. Finally, after considering the shirt/no-shirt decision for several minutes (ultimately deciding to go midriff) I created a PLUS league. Thus was born the Roto Arcade Pro-Am. It's a fairly standard 16-team mixed configuration, and we're using Tout-style rosters: 23 active players, including two catchers, five outfielders, ...

I mean, maybe you don't read Funston's Big Board, or the chuckles that Big Noise used to generate just aren't doing the trick for you anymore, but for the most part, both Behrens and Matt Buser over at Yahoo! are good reads. But I digress... Last season I participated in Andy's Yahoo! Early Mockery. It was a standard 12-team 5x5 Roto league which hosted writers from sites like The Hardball Times ...

Razzball Challenges Umpbump: Be The Least You Can Be
Published 3/24/2009 by Paul Moro at umpbump.com
About a month ago, Umpbump HQ received a peculiar e-mail. It was from Rudy Gamble, the operator of the fantasy baseball site Razzball.com, challenging us to a duel…
Well, not really a duel per se since it involves ten combatants. It was more of a battle royale, a gauntlet, a “clusterf***”. Our weapons? The crappiest baseball players you can imagine. Our sword is Jason Marquis, our shield is Cesar Izturis, and Nick Punto is our codpiece.

As an added bonus, you guys also get to compete for a $50 Taco Bell prize! Thanks to Rudy and Razzball for the invitation.
As far as I can tell, I’m going to need to e-mail out invitations to the league. So, the first nine people who e-mail me will get into the first division, and we’ll add more divisions as needed so everyone can play. I ...

Roundtable: Worst Value, First Three Rounds
Published 2/20/2009 by Tim Dierkes at Fantasy Baseball - RotoAuthority.com
I'm hosting the roundtable this week. My topic:
Name the player who is the worst value for his average draft position, within the first three rounds.
Brett Greenfield, Fantasy Phenoms
The player who is the worst value for his ADP, within the first three rounds is Evan Longoria. There is no doubt that he has immense potential, but with your second round pick there is way too much risk involved. He batted .272 last year and stole seven bases. During his minor league career of two seasons, he stole a total of eight ...
SGPs Part III: The Problem of League Specifics
Published 2/19/2009 by Mays at Last Player Picked
I have mentioned that I think Standings Gain Points (SGPs) are a pretty good method of determining player values for fantasy. However, I don’t use them for the Price Guide based on some shortcomings I have found. This week I’m pointing out some of the quibbles that I have with the SGP methodology:
How many types of fantasy baseball leagues are there out there? Fantasy leagues might have 6 teams or 30 teams or anything in between. They use different stats: 4×4 and 5×5 and 6×6 and hundreds of other combinations. Different leagues start different positions: two ...
