Saturday night’s allright for baseball (borrowing from Elton John again) and the Tampa Bay area is ready, the Rays are ready (Evan got that error thing out of the way last night…) and it’s time for the Red Sox to FEEL THE HEAT! Game 158: Rays (96-62) at Tigers (71-86)

Scott Kazmir (12-7, 3.36) vs. Armando Galarraga (12-6, 3.58)
If sunlight is the best disinfectant, playing a matinee might be the best chance the Detroit Tigers have to burn away the stink they've been giving off for the past four weeks.
One team will likely clinch a division title this weekend at Comerica Park. Unfortunately for the hopes and dreams of Tiger Town, that team will be the Tampa Bay Rays. With a win today, the Rays will win the AL East, completing a turnaround reminiscent of the Tigers' resurgence in 2006, and perhaps ...

Probably not going to end well! But whether the Brewers, Sabathia, or their fans are headed for heart break (from losing) or heart attack (from actually winning), the trading season has begun, and this baseball season just got a whole lot more interesting.

... , RHP - Perhaps best known for being one of the guys that the Mets traded away Scott Kazmir to get, Zambrano spent most of last season recovering from Tommy John surgery in May while collecting a cool $3M salary from the Metropolitans. That elbow problem, along with hamstring and back injuries basically made 2006 a lost season. Don't be fooled by Zambrano's decent run of ERA seasons from 2003-05 (4.21, 4.37, 4.17, respetively), he is not a good pitcher. His poor control (career 5.03 BB/9, 1.34 K/BB) cannot be hidden by his league-average "stuff" (6.76 K/9 career). That said, I would still encourage the Nats to go after him. Coming off TJ surgery, he should be cheap, perhaps in the ...
