In the above photo, we see that the side spike has been cast away by an overzealous blow dryer. Linehan refers to said look as the "4 Wide-Side-Spike", symbolic of the fact the spike is spread out across his cranial field. Notice the passive agressive front spike in Figure 2.0. Known throughout the locker room as the "Split Ends Screen", Coach likes to fool the opposition into thinking his hair (from the front perspective) has more depth than reality suggests. Figure 3.0 represents Linehan's version of the "Jailhouse Break", when one section of his scalp goes deep, while the rest remains at the line of scrimmage.
