Oh Hell to the No!: Altidore Injured
Published 4/4/2008 by SF at The Offside Rules
Damn y'all. Forwards are catching knee injuries this month like Chris Henry is catching charges. Jozy looks like the most recent striker to be struck down. Somebody start warming up John Wolyneic's engine.

With the calendar turning from January to February tomorrow - which, if you adopt a really broad definition of time, puts the kickoff to the 2008 Major League Soccer (MLS) season just one month away - now seems the time to organize myself for what’s ahead. And this all needs to fit within the scheme I chose for the year - ...

We'd settle for someone who can play the ball into space for Juan Pablo Angel and/or Jozy Altidore, but that's just us. Also, over the holidays it was announced that Claudio Reyna is staying and John Harkes is ...

Really, it’s an honor just to be nominated
Published 12/20/2007 by Dan Loney at Dan Loney Says It All
The USSF has decided what was best in soccer, and this year’s best blog is Steven Goff. Congratulations! Ives Galarcep with the silver. No problem. I’ve got a huge problem with the third place pick, though. Here - go back and read for yourself. If that was the third best blog in the country, I’ll rig up a podcast and shoot myself in the head live on the Internet.

U.S. Soccer announces best soccer blog
Published 12/20/2007 by Josh at ThroughBall.com
U.S. Soccer announced yesterday that Steven Goff’s fantastic blog, Soccer Insider, won the title of “Best U.S. Soccer Blog.” Congratulations to Goff and to first runner-up, Ives Galarcep! Taking nothing away from these two guys (who I believe are the best of the best soccer writers we have in the U.S), I can’t help but wonder if we need a better definition of the word “blog.” I think that Steven and Ives are great, but they’re also paid to write about soccer. I think blogs written by amateurs, such as those ...

If, at some point, I see vote totals, I will try and let you know how we did. If we must lose out, then losing at least to a blog from our city should cushion the blow. You know, at least it wasn't Ives. To those of you that cast a few votes our way, my thanks. Let me say this - We are not finished here. England 2-3 Croatia: what the bloggers say

... 'At the end of the day, if you're the so-called soccer power that England is supposed to be then you find a way to beat Croatia at Wembley. Period… Somewhere, Alexi Lalas and the rest of the LA Galaxy staff must have did a little dance at the prospect of not losing David Beckham to Euro 2008 as well as the fact that Beckham actually looked good in his second-half appearance for the English.' Soccer by Ives '…The way Croatia played last night (i.e. in a comfortable, self-assured and competent fashion), it's fair to say that England do not deserve to be at the Finals because ...

Observations From The Second Day Of MLS Cup Media

THE CONWAY DEBATE

... | August 28th, 2007 Alright folks, too damn many days have gone by for a recap, and my comp is finally up and running. So lets talk about whats on the lips of all Red Bulls fans: The CONWAY Debacle. Now, I could have easily gone with THE OWN GOAL DEBATE or THE MENDES OWN GOAL as the title to this story, but to be honest, its deeper than that. As the days have gone on, and people have been weighing in, Ives Galarcep of SBI decided to offer up some choice words about our backup goalkeeper, whom many Metro fans have a man crush on, and opened up a nice can of worms debate . . . THE OWN GOAL As if we havent seen the replay enough . . . I will exclude it from these pages. It makes me sick. To all of you Conway apologists - he had more than enough time to compensate for a ball with a little bit of pace kicked into it. Mendes did the right thing, Conway was caught sleeping (at least, that is my theory, since he never spoke after the game . . . ...
