... Steve Trachsel - Trachsel (a.k.a. "The Human Rain Delay") would fit right in for those Nats fans among us who enjoyed the extra beer time that Tony Armas' glacial pitching pace provided. Seriously though, apart from his 2004 herniated disc and attendant surgery, Trachsel has been one of the healthiest pitchers in baseball over his career, averaging 205+ IP over his career. And by "healthy," I don't mean "good." The question for the Nats should be whether the 2006 edition of Trachsel (87 ERA+, 1.60 WHIP) is the beginning of a late-career flameout. For the price of a 2 year/$5-$6M deal I wouldn't be averse to taking a chance that he's got a few more years of league-average innings in him. He won't be very good (his ...
