The Thunder are young, but their presence is already felt through the interwebs. And I added something extra:
Welcome to Loud City (SB Nation blog. Not many posters, but the guys writing the blog is a consumate professional.) OKC Thunder Fans (Forum. Pretty active, and the regulars seemed like amiable guys.) Oklahoma City Thunder Forum (Not nearly as active as the other one.) Supersonic Soul (Great, great blog. I mean, have you read this?)

Do you know anyone who plays hockey? Did your high school have a hockey team? Do you and your friends get together for pick-up hockey on Saturdays?
I’m guessing the answer to those questions is no all around. And yet, despite basketball’s inherent advantages over hockey in terms of popularity in the U.S., here we stand, with hockey drawing more people this year. How is this possible?

Published 11/21/2008 by J.D. Mo at Milwaukee Bucks Blog - The Bob Boozer Jinx
Erstwhile Milwaukee Bucks shooting guard Michael Redd is "close" to suiting up and playing this weekend, Bucks coach Scott Skiles reported from Utah Wednesday, where the Bucks lost 104-95 to the Jazz.
"Michael is coming along, there's no question about it," Bucks coach Scott Skiles said before the game, referring to Redd. "He's able to go through shootarounds at speed, and he'll get a good shooting workout here (before the game), so he's close."
Or is he? It sounds to me like Redd could have ...

God Save The Wheedle!

Oklahoma City will inevitably brick when they select the mascot for their as of now unnamed NBA franchise. I have no faith in the mascot moniker selection process. When I was in high school, the school's administration decided it was no longer (never at any point) p.c. for our mascot to be the Indians. We came damn close to becoming the yaks as I recall... and then, seemingly overnight, we became the nighthawks. What kind of hawk? Don't strain yourself, chief. Nighthawks don't exist. We went from being something predatorial from the ...

The Fight for the Sonics: is a resolution possible?

In case you’ve been hiding under a rock, one of the biggest stories around the NBA right now is Clay Bennett attempting to move the Seattle Sonics to Oklahoma City. Fans around the entire league have joined the crisis facing Sonics fans, with much discussion going on over at SonicsCentral and SuperSonicSoul.
Today, April 18, all 30 of the NBA’s team owners voted on the proposed move to Oklahoma City. However, numerous fan petitions and threats were not enough to sway owner voting in their favor. In fact, the decision was somewhat of a landslide, 28-2. ...
Owners Vote to Approve Sonics' Move
Published 4/18/2008 at ESPN.com - TrueHoop
From the Associated Press: NBA owners have approved the Seattle SuperSonics' move to Oklahoma City for the 2008-09 season, pending the resolution of litigation between the team and the city of Seattle. The Sonics could begin playing in owner Clay Bennett's hometown as early as next season if they can get out of the remaining two years of their lease at Key Arena. Seattle has filed suit trying to force the Sonics to remain in the city until the lease expires in 2010, while Bennett wants to buy out the remainder. The city already has rejected Bennett's $26 million to settle the ...

Durant is 6-9, so you'd think Thabo would see a lot of time on him. Durant can shoot over Hinrich and Duhon anytime he wants. Granted, he's only shooting 40%, so maybe you want to encourage him to take jumpers, but it would be nice if somebody could at least get a hand in his face.
