... : IM during the game from Mike McClary of The Daily Fungo (who lives in Arizona): "Webb looks mortal." I'd say: 4 IP, 6 H, 6 ER. As a Tigers' fan, McClary himself probably didn't feel so good, seeing Tony Clark hit two homers nearly a decade after his team made the determination -- which seemed like a pretty sound one at the time, actually -- that he was toast. Felipe Lopez hit two bombs of his own. ...

Eddie started projecting the rosters of the Tigers and their minor league affiliates recently. His first post: the Tigers position players. Who does he have making the 25th — and only open — spot on the active roster?
Mike is profiling the Tigers’ players at The Daily Fungo.

More Hall of Fame arguments

... new Hall of Famers in about five minutes. And while one can certainly make compelling arguments for both Mazeroski and Gordon, the truth is that the great majority of marginal (or worse) Hall of Famers were elected by just this sort of "smaller group." It would be exceptionally easy to design a process that resulted in the election of Ron Santo. The problem is coming up with a process that results in the election of only Ron Santo. Good luck with that. Meanwhile, my friend (and blogger ) Mike McClary suggests that Santo isn't the only cause c lèbre, and he's right. Not ...

Housekeeping: Lions, Tigers and a new forum!
Published 4/2/2008 by Big Al at SideLion Report | A Detroit Lions Blog
... I have to admit I was a tad preoccupied with the Detroit Tigers the past few days. Then again, what team would you rather write about? The team doing everything humanly possible to bring home a world title, or the Lions? (Uh…that was a rhetorical question! I do love the Lions, but they frustrate me to no God damn end!) Between doing a week long Tigers preview at TWFE , appearing on The Detroit Tigers Podcast (Though I was able to pimp SLR, thank you very much Mike !) , and attending opening day , the Lions have been on the back burner. Well…save for ...
Tigers Corner 2008
Published 3/3/2008 by billfer at The Detroit Tiger Weblog
Hitting store shelves this week is Tigers Corner 2008. This is the second edition of the book/magazine/annual from Maple Street Press. It is edited by Gary Gillette of ESPN fame (ESPN.com contributor, Baseball Encyclopedia, etc.) so it definitely lends some credibility to the motley crew of Tigers bloggers who contributed articles.
Brian Borawski helped out with last year’s version, and this year he invited myself, Lee Panas, Ian Cassellberry, Matt Wallace, and Mike McClary to submit articles as well. So at the very least you know that the writers were ...

Who's Your New Tigers Blogger?
Published 3/9/2007 by Ian C. at Sweaty Men Endeavors
... I'm not sure what will happen here during the summer, as I think it's safe to assume virtually all of my Tigers-related material will be posted at Bless You Boys. (I'd also like to thank Mike McClary for inviting me to post at The Daily Fungo over the last month or so. I hope I can still contribute to the discussion over there, as well.) But there's always something going on worthy of celebration or ridicule. Plus, I love baseball, so maybe I'll try to write about what's going on elsewhere in the sport. Once football season starts up again, however, I'll want to crush the Lions (and agonize over the Wolverines) and we've established a fine tradition of that here. ...
