... By The Blade has an excellent interview with recent Sabres draftee Jordon Southorn. Southorn was taken by Buffalo in the fourth round, and is a defenseman for the PEI Rockets. Former Sabre Jay McKee however, was busy dressing up as Marilyn Monroe. Honestly, he was at the Wedding of teammate Dan Hinote where for some reason, everyone was asked to come in a 1950's era costume. The party also featured Jim Carrey dressed as Fidel Castro. Sabres fans can breathe easier this morning, as Buffalo signed Paul Gaustad to a four-year deal worth $9.2 million. Gaustad is one of those players that we Sabres fans usually get behind. Rarely takes a game off, works hard, good on draws, doesn;t mind getting physical. In fact, he’s exactly what Buffalo needs about two or three more of.
So, well done by both sides. Gaustad gets a little financial security and the Sabres wrap up a player they need. And Gaustad giving up three years of unrestricted status says something as well. There has to be a letter on his sweater this season, right? ...
