Adam Proteau of The Hockey News has a candid piece on Ron Wilson definitely worth a read. Can't wait for the hilarious anecdotes about Toskala to be included in the 08-09 THN yearbook. I've got similiar film responses to the man. ...

The Hockey News has a wonderful website , and you can both purchase both the physical and digital editions of the issue I'm about to quote from for very reasonable prices. I highly recommend the Hockey News's digital edition, brought to you by Zinio , because it's not like ITunes, where you basically buy five licenses to access a file--Zinio allows you to download the issue to as many of your computers as you can possibly destroy and/or use on a regular basis, and if you lose your library, you can re-download it. Now that all the plugs are out of the ...

A big couple of days for the Blueshirts, a huge win at Uniondale followed by a sloppy, but standout performance by the King yesterday at the Garden. The Rangers have done a lot of good over this streak of 8 - 0 - 2 in their last ten and most of it 5-on-5. ...

The decline of the Euro

The Hockey News is about three or four issues into its latest reimagination, a redesign that I think has worked pretty well to bring the publication belatedly into the 21st century. Gone are a lot of the more archaic features such as player stats and injury updates, and in their place are more innovative numbers and facts with a great deal of research behind them. The latest THN to hit my mailbox was 'the European issue,' something that included as part of the numbers pages a look at how players from across the pond have infiltrated the NHL in recent years. Here's a graphical ...

... I don't really mind when fans on message boards suggest things like giving Ovechkin a contract with option years, or other things that can't happen in the CBA, it's not expected that the casual fan know the ins and outs of the collective bargaining agreement. I would like to think that a professional writer would know better when he's making it the crux of his point in an article that is appearing simultaneously on both thehockeynews.com and ...
