Beasley Shows Why Summer League Games Mean Nothing
Published 7/9/2008 by noreply@blogger.com (Drew H.) at The Undrafted Free Agent
Over the span of two days and two games, Miami Heat forward Michael Beasley proved summer league games, in the grand scheme of things, mean little to nothing. On Monday, Beasley made his summer league debut against the Chicago Bulls, led by fellow super-prospect Derrick Rose. Beasley dominated, scoring 28 points in 23 minutes against very good NBA defenders in Tyrus Thomas and Joakim Noah. He was having fun on the court, laughing, joking and singing as his team rolled over the Bulls. The general consensus, it seemed , was that Beasley is a superstar. Then came ...

This is a commercial I had yet to see, just like yesterday . The quality and length of this video is vastly inferior to the real version, I assume. Also, the "LIARS" at the end is well worth the wait. If you are above the influence, you won't read these links. But c'mon, peer pressure is sooo cool. SLAM Goes Blogger for Their Online Editor Position Which Has Now Been Odenized
Published 7/1/2008 by Will Brinson at FanHouse
Filed under: NBA Media WatchSLAM magazine has long been a mailbox fixture of NBA heads across the world. And with the help of online editor Sam Rubenstein (among many others, of course) the online version has grown into a similarly important collection of NBA writing talent. And as Rubenstein announced in his retirement post today, the webby transition has been interesting, albeit challenging. Which may explain why SLAM has decided to hire an independent NBA blogger to take Rubenstein's position. Time to announce who will be stepping in as the new online editor, ...

Goodbye Cruel Watcher

By Sam Rubenstein Here is a post I’ve been dreading writing, but it is time. Remember back in High School when you had a weird English teacher and you may have thought to yourself, wow that old guy sure was creepy? Well, I aspire to be that old creepy man! That’s right everyone, I am leaving the glamorous world of free trips to Vegas and New Orleans and the NBA Finals for the opportunity to teach the truth to the youth. I am sacrificing “fame”and “fortune” for the ability to… wait why am I doing this to myself!?! I got into grad school recently with a big assist from the ...

... I agree with Caleb Tyler Adam that it is selfish if I deny in any way the greatness of KG winning his championship. I am being completely selfish here, both in my KG bitterness and my angst over Boston, yet I am extremely about happy about KG winning his championship. And at the same time it doesn't mean I have some other thoughts about what KG has become as an individual (not just this year, but over the past three and a half years...). Upon re-watching the Tafoya Interview on Odenized this morning maybe my stance on contrivedness has softened, or maybe that interview is ...
