... If you're still reading at this point, and your name isn't Greg Wyshynski, you get brownie points. A few final words from him on the hockey blog community and how his new gig fits in. The tight-knit community: "That’s the great thing about being a hockey blogger. Outside of a few corners of the internet ... I think everybody gets along, I think everybody respects each other and I think everybody loves the fact that there is so much content out there. Best Wishes Sean
Published 4/30/2008 by Scotty Hockey at Scotty Hockey
TSN is reporting Sean Avery has a lacerated spleen after the Daily News reported he had cardiac arrest last night. So clearly no one really knows what exactly is going on but whatever it is, it isn't good. All too often we dwell on the games and forget that they are actually played by people. Sean was demonized and lionized by various groups of fans but now everyone should just hope he is ok and wish him a speedy recovery.
First Series To Turn Ugly
Published 4/17/2008 by The Puck Stops Here at The Puck Stops Here
It is not uncommon for two teams that are playing a tough playoff series against one another to start to hate each other and have games that are full of fights and scrums after the whistle. This is a series getting ugly. TSN.ca even had a poll on which series would turn ugly first (though it is now gone from their website) . The answer is the Minnesota Wild vs. Colorado Avalanche. Game four of the series, on Tuesday night, which Colorado won 5-1, featured 144 penalty minutes. It is probably not a surprise that when the game got out of hand Minnesota would become a goon squad. ...
