Around the internet: Training Camp roundup
Published 7/19/2008 by Skin Patrol at Hogs Haven: Front Page Posts
... Washington Redskins.
Finally, Chris Mottram is cool.
I've run out of time. Enjoy Training Camp; I'll be around to keep you updated to the extent that's possible, but don't be shy about posting FanShots or FanPosts. You never have to wait on me to get the word out on a story here at Hogs Haven. What I'm saying is, explore this space, register, comment, etc. This place is so much more entertaining when it isn't me talking to myself.
I'm going golfing. Enjoy all these tags.
Gonzo's Summer Reading List Hits the Links

... it's one of the really big events. I'll watch stuff like the finals of the tennis grand slams (and if you missed the Wimbledon men's final last weekend, try to track down a copy somewhere), and I'll watch the Masters as well. But, honestly, my favorite sporting event to watch has to be the British Open golf tournament, which kicks off on Thursday at Royal Birkdale in Scotland.
(And, since I'm going to be talking about golf, I'd be crazy to not throw in a plug for Waggle Room, SBNation's outstanding golf site.)

Texas Open Legend Mike Souchak Dies

... goes over those records and other elements of Souchak's career. And, with a hat tip (and apologies) to Waggle Room , here's an excerpt from an old Sports Illustrated article describing the conditions in San Antonio that week in 1955: In Texas, there was mud. So much of it that the players hit their tee shots off mats all week. Where there wasn't mud, the ground was frozen. "The weather that week was pretty tough—horrible, in fact," says Arnold Palmer , who finished sixth. "It snowed, and it was very muddy. You were two inches taller when you finished than when you started ...

Did you really expect an update?

I mean, c'mon, it's time for The Masters! The greatest four days in golf are upon us. For more info, check out SB Nation's golf blog, Waggle Room. On top of that, there really isn't any K-State news today. On a personal note, I went to the Astros-Cardinals game last night and saw Albert Pujols smack two home runs in St. Louis' 6-4 victory. The weather inside the closed lid of Minute Maid Park was certainly infinitely superior to what the Royals and Yankees faced in Kansas City, but I'm sure ...

I've Never Liked Golf Much Anyway

... I've never liked golf (What the hell does Waggle Room mean anyway?). I've never understood how people talk about how great the sport is when they spend most of their time on the course being pissed off that they're not doing better, all the while swearing at their clubs, their balls (gasp!), birds, or me. On the rare occasion someone talks me into playing I spend about nine (six?) hacking away at the ball, and then the remainder wondering when the beer cart girl is coming back and why there's a limit on how many they can sell at one time. ...
