Instead of agonizing over every Pirate loss, keep an eye on Alvarez and guys like Robbie Grossman, Wes Freeman, and Quinton Miller. Game 1: It was good to hear baseball again.  The Pirates Bullpen had a really nice day.  I think the most interesting decisions this spring will revolve around the pen.  A majority of the pitchers penciled in are out of options, so who gets DFAed will be intriguing.  Luckily, so many players get DFAed late in the spring, quite a few can make it through the process. The other interesting question that may have been brought to light yesterday.  Will Shelby Ford surpass Bonds HR record?  Or will he pop a pee test first?  (Sarcasm alert) ...

IX- I am trying not to get my hopes up, but this is the biggest news I have heard about Free Agency and the Steelers so far this off-season.  According to the Tribune Review Jeff Saturday and his agent are saying that Saturday would like to be a Steeler. Can I be honest with you? I'm really not into hockey that much right now. Every season I hit what my friend Schnookie has sometimes referred to as the February swoon. It's not that I want the season to end really but I would like to just get on with it. Let's drop the puck on the playoffs already. Not even a playoff race is holding my interest very well. As long as the Sabres are in it, I don't really care where they stand and actually considering that they play better against better teams and on the road, I'm not sure I really want them to move up too far.
