The NBA needs to make a rule about this. If the NCAA players can not pull out neither should the foreigners.

The Great Debate - Who Is The Greatest Athlete Of All Time?

And to think that football was not his best sport, as some say he was the best lacrosse player ever. That too is a good choice. And if I am not mistaken he also played basketball and was on the track team at SU (but do not quote me on that).

As a Tar Heel (yes, I always say that don't I?) I have to go with MJ. And I will link to this story as soon as I do a story about ex Heels in the NBA (probably tonight or tomorrow).

NFL Debate: Should the Super Bowl be held in London?

  • AEM AEM
    +2

I think that bringing football to Europe can be great (just like any other sport), but it has to be done in a way where there is still a big part of the fan base coming from the US. If that can be done, and done in a way where it can be worthwhile to who really is sports (aka the fans) then I welcome it all.

NFL Debate: Should the Super Bowl be held in London?

The other thing that the NFL (or whomever) needs to do if they go to London (or elsewhere (even in the US)) is make packages for families, for couples, to make the experience not just about the game. Sure the Super Bowl has to be the center piece, but there can be other things to a week long experience.

Want to check if I am a Tar Heel for sure? No problem, I bleed carolina blue (lol)!

Who Will Have The Better NBA Career, Blake Griffin vs. Hasheem Thabeet?

  • AEM AEM
    +2

Griffin is going to have to build a mid range shot if he wants to be close to the talent he was in college. While on the other hand, you can not teach being 7 foot plus! Also, I firmly believe that a lot of the fortune that a player can have in the pros depends on the team they end up with.

I still go with the ex UConn player, who might never have a stellar year, but will have more than a decade of good ones.

NFL Debate: Should the Super Bowl be held in London?

Mookie, I agree with you completely on both of these points, for the first couple of years. What has me worried is this, once the NFL has done it twice in Europe, are they going to try other continents? Is the glitter of this be as shiny once the fans have gotten a taste once, twice, three times.

I say this because in the US with every team going you have a huge fan base wanting go to see their team. In Europe you are going to have the same fans (fans of the game) going, because I do not believe (from what I know) that each NFL team has enough of a backing to fill up a stadium.

The positive I see is that this could become more of a family affair for some, since I know for myself my wife would not go to the Super Bowl alone, but maybe would consider going to see a city such as London along with the Super Bowl.

In the end, all I hope is that they keep March Madness in the US! I did mention in other posts I am a Tar Heel, right?

I don't think it's a bad idea for the "rest of the world", but I have a problem how the fan base that supported their teams will then lose out on going to see them in the biggest game of them all.

I will say this on the record, I am a Tar Heel and I think you have Ty Lawson a bit too high. I see him going 10th - 16th. On the other hand I truly hope to be wrong and that you guys are right.

2009 NBA Mock Draft (Updated)

  • AEM AEM
    +3

I might be biased and all, but Griffin in the NBA isn't going to push as many players around as he did in college. Add to that he has not mid/outside shot and you have a player that is going to be great against weaker teams, but if push to comes to shove he isn't as good as the hype.
