The Power Forward Conundrum in Utah

Agreed. But is that a reason to let him ('Sap) leave town? Because it really seems like the Jazz won't be able to afford both players, barring some huge trade or something. And the cost for Booze, combined with the max salaries that Deron & AK have... it'll eat up most of our cap space. And the Jazz will have spots to fill this offseason.

Yes, but you can't depend on his health, and his cost might be too high for a team that's not going to go over luxury tax limit.

The question is, how much would a team be willing to give up for an injury prone big that'll opt out after the season and that hasn't played in almost 4 months? He'll be getting back right around the deadline, which also impacts things.

That's said, it's a very well written article. Personally, while Booze is an All-Star, I'd much rather have 'Sap around (if I had to pick 1 of the 2).

He's also "wasting" the hits on my fantasy team.

I picked him up because I forgot to draft a SS till late... and then the guy got injured. Hello to Guzman.

Breaking News!!! Ex-NBA referee Tim Donaghy told the feds NBA fixed the outcome of one playoff series

Simple. Because in the long run, they can point to it and say "see, if we were fixing it, would the Spurs have won it so many times?" It was all a part of their plan...

Actually, I really don't know if I believe that. But it would kinda make sense... if you can assume that the guys heading the NBA are smart enough to look that far ahead and forsee issues popping up.

Flagrant Fouls and Ejections

Actually, Odom was right next to him. I haven't seen a replay, so I don't know if it was a foul or not. But Odom was right there. The last game, Vujacic might've been hit (I didn't see the whole game, not sure). But in that OT for sure, it was a flop. Utah also shot a ton of FTs this season (aka they got fouled a ton)... and I know they weren't just settling for jumpers in the playoff series.

Yeah... playing the whole 1st quarter the way they did doomed them. A lack of urgency on their part... highly frustrating.

Flagrant Fouls and Ejections

It's not homecourt advantage when the Lakers still get the benefit of the doubt in SLC. The Jazz win at home because they (for some odd reason) play much better there... not because of help from the refs.

As for calls to be made... every hook on Kobe. And every Gasol push.

And maybe, just maybe, they shouldn't be calling fouls on the Jazz on an Odom drive when no one touches him. Or a foul on the Jazz when Vujacic flops back every other play as if he got elbowed (note... he didn't).

And the FT discrepancy has been a pain... the Jazz are driving to the hoop as much as/more than the Lakers. And while everyone mentions that the Jazz foul a lot, no one seems to mention that the Jazz also get fouled a lot. Or they did...

Unreasonable... you mean like Gasol NEVER getting called for a 3-in-the-key? As far as I know, that rule still exists. Maybe the refs should call that.

Utah Jazz: The Most Disgusting Fans In The NBA

I've been saying the same thing. There are idiots out there... like there are everywhere. That doesn't mean that all the fans are the same.

Of course... everyone seems to be judging us on the few idiots, because that's what they do.

Kyle Korver Traded to Utah

  • UtesFan89 UtesFan89

Yep, anti-Sloan here. For all the part he plays in the teams success (if any), his style and his coaching is keeping the team from winning it all. He has his pre-determined biases (Ostertag and Giricek before, Collins and Harpring now); he either underplays or overplays all the starters; and seems to have as much confidence in the bench as I do in him as a leader for the team.

Agree on Collins too. But seriously, what're you going to get for him? A basketball?

As for the post... a good post defender would be nice. Booze and Okur don't defend. All Flop does is... well, flop.  Fesenko is the best one the Jazz have... and Sloan isn't going to play him no matter what.

Best of luck to Gordan... he was unfairly blamed for a lot of things by Jerry.

But I'm excited to see Korver in Utah... hopefully he'll be the 3-point threat the Jazz have been lacking.

Take out Brewer's arm deformity, take the rest of Harpring, and you got a deal!

That would just make the bench worse... and make watching Sloan's rotations even more frustrating. Though you can take almost anyone else from the bench (excluding Fesenko, Almond and maybe Miles).

How about Jarron Collins for one of Iggy's shoes?

Marion: 'Time for me to move on'

I don't think Marion is willing to become the 4th option on the Jazz though.

If he's fine with it... I'm all for the trade.

We just don't want to trade one disgruntled player for another.

Williams Rips Kirilenko's Work Ethic

Provided he has any trade value left.

You'd think that he'd realize that every word he says makes it less likely that he'll get dealt... only because the Jazz aren 't going to trade him for less than what they think he's worth.

But doesn't Marion want to be "the guy" or something? Isn't that why he wants out in Phoenix... because he's the 3rd option or something?

Hey... at least the Jazz are well represented.  Two for two... even if both are on the wrong end. :)

Great job with this. I have to give a vote to Ronnie Price here.

YouTube - Manager ejected from baseball game

Reminds me a bit of the minor-league manager that was ejected last year (June or July) and went absolutely ballistic... throwing bats and covering home-plate and all.

As for this guy, what was he trying to prove by throwing the rosin-bag like a grenade?

I'm obviously a bigger fan of Dee Brown than you are...

Other than that, I have to agree with the chart completely. Especially with it all leading to "Harpring sucks!"
