Mine would have gotten the call and it wouldn't have mattered, as he'd simply see his team lose to Utah. Again.

The point guard of those Bulls teams was Scottie Pippen as much as anyone else.

That was an egregious foul. Period. And even if it had only netted two free throws, it should have been called.

But it only "decided the game" because San Antonio is gritty, experienced, and still a capable team. These Spurs don't have the talent or depth of the Lakers, and that was apparent again last night. So really, kudos to San Antonio for even making it so close.

Roger Clemens--steroid user; philanderer; can't win playoff games. What a guy! I hope the media finds some time to cover him soon. I don't hear enough about him.

Kidd should have just done what Vince Carter does on a weekly basis: go on unannounced strikes for entire quarters.

Really appreciated the historical perspective on this. It again affirmed my admiration for all the excellent basketball bloggers who maintain interwebs. Thanks, Matt. As always.

I was terribly disappointed by Milwaukee this offseason. They drafted a guy who said he didn't want them to take him and they failed to significantly upgrade their defense. I stand by what I wrote back in June:

I'd like for Milwaukee to trade Andrew Bogut and come away from the draft with either Noah or Julian Wright (one of my favorite players to watch) and a contributor or a pick for Bogut. Could they get Noah or Wright and Acie Law if they dealt Bogut for Law at some point? If that happened, I am pretty sure that Milwaukee would instantly become my fourth-favorite team (behind the Knicks, whomever Tracy McGrady plays for, and Detroit), and it would have a chance to move up to #3 since the Pistons are disintegrating and I advocate for that roster's destruction. The Bucks would have Michael Redd, my man, both in the real world and in fantasy basketball; Charlie Villanueva, a UConn dude, so you know I'm riding with him; some interior defense all of a sudden; and Acie, another one of my three or four favorite kids from college. The Bucks would also have three guys (Redd, Williams, Law) who are not afraid to shoot in a close game. And, they'd be ever more hardbody with Noah or Wright blocking shots and Law pressuring on the perimeter. Please, God, let this happen.

If ever there were a player made for the Warriors, it's gotta be Josh Smith. He'd get some touches, he'd be blocking Dirk's shots at the rim, he'd be running and dunking--that team is his destiny.

Great work again, man. My only gripe: no mention of Acie Law? I love that dude ().

This is how my average day is structured right now:

     1) Wake up to the sound of Kanye's "Good Life" blaring from my phone.

    2) Visit ESPN.com and Ballhype for key information.

    3) Send emails to Boston friends taunting them about imminent Red Sox collapse.

    4) Spend rest of day reading about Isiah Thomas and the Dolans. I doubt that any Knicks fan can properly articulate what it's like to follow this story. I love it and I hate it. The former because this may be the ribald episode that *finally* leads to full-on regime change. The latter because, as Tom rightly wrote, there are likely to be few Knicks happenings as interesting as this one once the season starts. It all starts with defense for the Brickers--if they play some, they should be on the fast-track to mediocrity. If they don't, well, we've already seen that.

I admire the ballsy no-50-wins-for-the-Celtics pick. I think a lot of people will look past the horrible bench and absent point guard, instead fixating on the usual "The East Blows" meme.

Isiah is a degenerate lowlife. The Dolans and Isiah must be removed from power. They have ruined a once proud franchise.
