Top Prospect Tobias Harris Picks Tennessee, Spurns Syracuse

A top prospect in the class of 2010, Tobias Harris finally made his decision tonight, choosing to play his college basketball at the University of Tennessee over the likes of Syracuse, West Virginia, Louisville and Kentucky. The 6-8, 220-pound forward made his announcement at the ESPN Zone in New York City, surrounded by a crowd of fans hoping he would choose to wear Syracuse's orange rather than Tennessee's. In fact, the Syracuse-slanted crowd booed the decision. "I liked the family atmosphere, the campus," he said. "It was a place I could imagine going to if I wasn't playing basketball. I can talk to coach [Bruce] Pearl about anything." He joins shooting guard, and fellow ESPN Top 100 recruit, Jordan McRae as well as shooting guard Trae Golden in Tennessee's 2010 recruiting class. In what has been a highly anticipated announcement, the young man is quite possibly the biggest recruit that coach Bruce Pearl has landed in his five years as head coach at Tennessee. Harris was the No. 7 rated recruit in the nation by ESPN. While some publications have him as high as No. 5, he is the No. 1 rated power forward in the country. The 6'8, 210 pound forward chose Tennessee over offers from Maryland, Syracuse, West Virginia, Louisville, Kentucky, and Georgia Tech. According to the likes of ESPN and TSN, the Chicago Blackhawks are nearing extensions with Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, and Duncan Keith but today on ESPN I read something that I couldn't believe. Since I am an ESPN Insider I am able to browse all the ESPN rumors and Insider articles, but in the rumor section this morning I read that Blackhawks should consider moving Marian Hossa. Here is a section from that article: "The salary cap is at $56.8 million this season but it's projected to dip a little next season. So even with just 15 players, the Hawks will be over the salary cap. That means they'll likely try to part ways with their biggest earners—Hossa, Campbell and Huet, as well as some of their role players. How will they do it? Like we said earlier, Bowman has quite the task ahead of him." Clipper Crystal Ball Predicts a WIN Tonight Against The Hornets

Tonight the Clippers end their losing ways against the Hornets. I guarantee it. Yes I know their recent history against New Orleans has been less than stellar. I'm aware of the 10 straight losses, the 16 losses in the last 20 games in New Orleans. I know, I know. Even the average loss by 22.7 points in their last three trips to the Big Easy hasn't escaped my keen eye. In spite of all this I am boldly going out on the Clipper limb and GUARANTEEING a victory tonight. The Clippers are due and everything seems to be in place for the win. Byron Scott is out and Jeff Bower is 0-2 since taking over. Chris Paul is out indefinitely with a severely twisted left ankle. Emeka Okafor doesn't look at all comfortable in light blue. ESPN's 24-hour Tip Off Marathon starts at Midnight Tuesday (Monday night). It's exciting, but the amount of exciting games isn't over the top. For a college hoops junkie, it's like the fix you've been waiting for. Here is a link to the schedule over at the Worldwide Leader. Midnight (ESPN and ESPN360.com) Cal State Fullerton vs. UCLA Most years this one would be a yawner. Sleep through it and watch the highlights. This year, maybe not so much.
