Angel Cabrera is the U.S. Open champ, the
fourth straight foreign-born champion in the national championship of
American golf. He did it by outlasting Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk on a frantic back nine. Cabrera finished at 5-over par after shooting a final-round 69, his second sub-par round of the tournament.
We don't follow golf's major tournament odds religiously,
but as an avid fan of the sport I
believe this may be the closest Vegas has ever came to guaranteeing a Tiger Woods victory. Hard to blame the odds, as we'd also give you a better chance at winning than Phil Mickelson or any other golfer not named Tiger. Here's the Masters field as of today and more importantly the odds to win ...

United States team captain Paul Azinger now has
just over two weeks to make the captain's selections
for his squad... The automatic qualifiers for the United States team include Phil Mickelson, Stewart Cink, Kenny Perry, Jim Furyk...
47-year-old Kenny Perry won the Buick Open this
past Sunday, beating a star-less field by one stroke.
It could have been closer, actually, but fan favorite Woody Austin totally melted down on the 18th green. This actually isn't really a story at all. It's only slightly meaningful because it's the last tournament before drug testing formally starts on the PGA Tour. Perry has won this ...
Tiger Woods has a chance at history this
weekend at the 2008 Arnold Palmer Invitational, a tournament
he’s won four times in a row from 2000-03. Last year’s winner Vijay Singh might have something to say about it. His last win was at this tourney, but in the history of this event only two players have gone on to repeat as Champs. Phil Mickelson’s back in action after winning the 2008 Northern ...
Boo Weekly is defending his only PGA Tour
win this week and he seems to be excited
to return to South Carolina. He had an impressive showing at his first Masters last week, finishing tied for 20th. He's had a strong start to his season, with three top-10s and seven top-25s in his 11 starts this year. 04/16/08
Phil Mickelson is fresh off a win at
Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial which he won by
making an incredible birdie on the final hole. It’s his second win of the year, he took the Northern Trust Open by two shots. He currently ranks 2nd in scoring average on the PGA TOUR. Last year at the Memorial he withdrew. 05/27/08
People watch less golf when Tiger Woods is
not involved. That seems fairly indisputable. And even if
you feel like disputing it, well, you would be wrong. At least based on the two tournament, somewhat small sample sized statistics that we have so ...
Who'd of guessed...a big hitting Argentinian, wins the
2007 US Open. Oakmont wasn't supposed work for big
hitters, remember... and an Argentinian hasn't won a major in 40 years. But, in the end Angel Cabrera , the Golf Gaucho, finished a shot ahead ...

All cheer for me Argentina I ve won the US Open And on a wild day I held off Woods And Furyk, too. I ve got my trophy And as for fortune, and as for fame I never thought they ...
Rundown of the US Women's Open and Lorena
Ochoa's meltdown.
There have been enough unremarkable champions we know
nothing about in golf's majors this year. We've had
Zach Johnson , who's only at all interesting because he thanked God after his Masters win, and Angel Cabrera , who's lone compelling point is ...
With the WGC Bridgestone Invitational starting play today,
I thought I’d share a few memories from Firestone
Country Club over the years... Couples looked right at me and said, “Oh do I?! Thanks!”... I ask Furyk how much they were betting on the round. He tried to ignore me and just smiled but when I asked again, he responded, “enough.”
Filed under: Golf What can slow down Tiger
Woods ? Apparently just one thing: Fatherhood. Woods is
skipping the PGA Grand Slam of Golf in Bermuda , and unlike so many politicians who offer it as an excuse, he seems to genuinely mean it when he says ...

Since the turn of the millennium this competition
has gone one of two ways on Sunday: the
overnight leader has taken the spoils or the victor has sprung out of the chasing pack from four shots back. That's happened three times: Stuart Appleby in ...

- Sun, Jan 27 2008-- The 2008 Buick Invitational
gets underway this weekend, at Torrey Pines G.C. Club, in San Diego, California. The Invitational will feature the #1 and #2 best golfers in the world. Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson
Last year’s 2007 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Champion,
Phil Mickelson, will be back to defend his title
this year. He matched two tournament records last year. Phil finished with a 20-under par last year to tie for the lowest 72 hole score in the tournaments history and he also finished with a five stroke lead ahead of the second place finisher, five other players have done this.
And not the Joe Lunardi type. The PGA
Type . The interesting first round matches include: Ryder
Cup teammates Zach Johnson and David Toms - Toms is down to a 13 seed, but is a tough enough competitor in match play to be a tough out for anyone, and Johnson hasn't exactly set the world afire since winning at Augusta last season. BWTHNWM K.J. Choi faces off against Camillo Villegas - ...
