By JON SHOW & JOHN OURAND Staff Writers The British Open is about to become an all-cable affair, as ESPN stands poised to pick up rights to the entire tournament starting in 2010, ending ABC s 50-year association with the event.

Padraig Harrington has two British Open titles, and it all started with a miss. But it wasn't his. The morning after he defended his title at Royal Birkdale, the Irishman already was looking ahead. Daly is five shots back of Swede Joakim Backstrom, who actually recorded the rare albatross (or double-eagle) on the 561-yard par-5 15th. "It was a four iron from 233 yards," Backstrom said after two bogeys and four ...

Deadspin found this 15 hours ago on dogsthatchasecars.blogspot.com

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: Golf, John Daly
