Woods settles into groove, wins sixth of season
Woods settles into groove, wins sixth of season
Woods goes to East Lake in Atlanta with a 3,133-point lead over Stricker and a 4,120-point margin over Phil Mickelson, who decided not to play this week. Mickelson, the Deutsche Bank Championship winner Monday, will have to win to have any hopes of capturing the FedEx Cup and the $10 million prize. If Stricker does not win at East Lake, Woods could win the cup by finishing second.

The Comeback
IMG’s Mark Steinberg, who manages number-one ranked Tiger Woods and former number-one Annika Sorenstam, might want to consider getting his Ari Gold on and shopping around the movie rights (Matt Damon, anyone?) for the story of another one of his clients, Steve Stricker.

It's All Downhill From Here, Tiger: Sergio Garcia Retains Lead At Carnoustie; Enjoys a Michelob
The last time The Open Championship strolled through Carnoustie Sergio Garcia looked like a an overwhelmed high school player who struggled to break 90 both days. Eight years later he's back in Scotland and he's just one round away from becoming this ...

The Barclays round three: Choi makes sense, on the course at least
I'm offering a prize (bar of chocolate enough?) to anyone who can tell me what K J Choi was talking about after his round Saturday. He's a great and generous guy, and a mighty fine golfer to boot, but he doesn't half mangle his English. I guess the ...

FedEx Cup be darned - Mickelson and Woods coming down to the wire is must-see TV
It feels like it's been forever since Phil Mickelson was laying waste to a course on the PGA Tour , but that's exactly what's happening at the Deutsche Bank Championship . Three birdies in five holes has Lefty tied a shot up on Arron Oberholser ...

 Crunch time in Marana
Crunch time in Marana
It's later in the afternoon in sunny chilly Arizona and some of these here golf matches are getting a little tighter than you'd expect. Mr. Tiger Woods won the first two holes of his match over Aaron Baddeley, but the Australian Penguin wearer is hanging around, only one-down through 12 holes to Tiger. Since number two, Baddeley is four-under for the day, looking pretty solid if you can say ...

Tiger Woods: ‘I Guess I Don’t Need a Cart Yet’
Geoff Ogilvy is lurking. EIGHTEEN DOWN, 54 TO GO. Round one of the U.S. Open is in the books, and two non-household names share the lead at three-under 68, Nationwide Tour player Justin Hicks and 29-year-old Kevin Streelman, who seems to emerge from obscurity on visits to Torrey Pines. Streelman was a big story at the Buick Invitational in January when he slipped into the field and then ...
