Okay, I really appreciate everything you guys have done at BallHype....but this is just ugly. It reminds me of ShowHype. I....just can't explain it. It's bad. I mean, it's bad enough to make me throw up and never want to come back here again. Whatever happened to the simple orange vote up and blue vote down? I know I'm just one member and that you've worked on this new theme for a long time but....I can't stand it. Maybe make it an option for people to use the old theme? Might be too complicated.
In any case, I appreciate every thing you guys have done for the sports blogging community, and the exremely fun picking games you've formed. But, this IS BallHype Feedback and Updates, so I let loose my feedback.
Oh, great! I really want BallHype to look like Hollywood throwup.
It's not the fact that I don't like change. I mean, I looked at Showhype and I thought, "Okay, its different, it looks like Hollywood, it fits the theme, and I don't like it much." But ShowHype isn't my thing, so it didn't matter. But now it looks like the exact same thing! This is sports, not TV!
I really, really hope that other people share my feelings....or I just may access it through www.workfriendly.net simply to avoid it.
OK, so we know not everyone is going to like the new design. That said, it’s a bummer that it’s making you sick -- not the visceral type of reaction we’re aiming for. It's Thanksgiving, so I’m going to take the optimistic approach and hope that the stadium lights and sleek blue voting widgets grow on you.
Major problem: Whenever I pick correctly or incorrectly, it stays blue and doesnt turn into red or green. Noooooooo!!!! Now it makes it just that much more difficult to skim through NCAA Basketball.
I got to admit I don't really like this new theme. I like the old theme--it was a simpler, a not-too-flashy feel to it. The new theme's like giving Angelina Jolie a face-lift. Why bother when it's already great?
Thanks for the feedback. We wouldn't do plastic surgery on Angelina Jolie either, but even she needs a new wardrobe once in a while, which is why we left the layout, navigation and site functionality intact.
I really like the new look. A little more stimulating and professional, so to speak. It's not so much that it's distracting. Just simple, which was the right move. So, for what it's worth (probably very little), you have my approval.
While I think most things you all are doing are excellent, I must say, I am not a fan of the new colors. I appreciate some of the other subtle changes. But would love the option to skin to Ballhype Classic where everything that is blue is white and the yellow glow around things dissapears. Could you add a css layer that would accomodate switching basic skin?
Unfortunately, maintaining two skins for the site would be a major headache. If I find goggles that achieve the same effect, I'll add them to the BallHype store...
I really like the skin idea if it is something that can be planned for in the future. Otherwise I likewise appreciate some of the graphic enhancements and subtle changes. But the ability to chose between a few other colors would be neat in the future...

Zorgon, it should remind you of ShowHype because they are in the same family, created by the same people and designed by the same crew.
Change can be hard for some folks, but not only is this a better look overall, but I already like it better than the prior round.
