    Any unifying theme this time?

It may turn out to be one of the most absured Carnivals ever, but the theme for this carnival is going to be "Make Up Your Own NBA Holiday".

Unless it creates problems by pushing the date back, I am going to publish on Wednesday, March 26. That happens to be Make Up Your Own Holiday Day.

These can either be serious, comical, or completely satire, but the challenge is to create an NBA holiday that takes place any day during the year. Possibly a holiday to commemorate the day the Celtics acquired Kevin Garnett, or set up an official "Fire Isaiah! Day."

I'll be publishing other posts as well; go ahead and submit any recent posts you've got. If you have any questions/comments/concerns/complaints, send me an e-mail or site PM.

You have fulfilled my lifelong dream - to make up a holiday and force people to hear about it.  The 26th works better in my schedule - thank you.

On a side not promoting my blog, I'm holding a March Madness tournament challenge. WhatIfSports has provided $70 of gift certificates for the top three bracketologists.

A lot of bloggers would enjoy their site, I'm assuming. You can simulate matchups between teams from the 1946 season on through 2007.

Considering I have only a half-dozen submissions to the the Carnival, I am extending the deadline through Monday, March 24. The Carnival will be published Wednesday, March 26.

It is not mandatory that you stick with the theme, however, it is preferrable. For a great example, here's Unsung Player Day from With Malice..

Thanks for the extension.  The holiday weekend is messing with my blogging schedule.

No problem. I didn't really want to pull together a Carnival on Easter weekend, either. Hopefully I can get another dozen contributions or so.

I'd love to host the next one, even though I didn't get to be a part of this one.

BullsBlogger owns the Carnival - you should send him a note.

Ahh I missed this one because of a) March Madness, b) crazy time with school work right now, and c) spent alot of time fine tuning the Carl English interview. Next time, for sure. This would have been my carnival debut, too.

Good job on the Carnival, la287.  I like the calendar format... very clean, very classy.  Well played.
