Philadelphia Sports Fans - Geoff Geary as Closer?

Is it just me or should the Phils actually promote their most consistent bullpen member to their main reliever? Tom Gordon was a set-up man prior to arriving in Philly and as I recall, Geary was a beast last year in the relief.

    Thoughts anyone?

A little early in the season to make that move, but if Gordon continues blowing saves and Gillick can't make a trade for a closer its not a bad idea.

I agree that it is worth a try, if things continue going poorly, but I don't think Geary has either the stuff or the makeup to be a good closer.

Most consistent Phillies reliever is not exactly a huge honor at this point.  The guy has never been closer pedigree and to promote him there on the strength of 2 outings is a bit premature.  Even for a Phils Phan.
