Great article on clutch hitting! Don weighted several
catgories and concluded that ... Rusty Staub ... was
the greatest clutch hitter in the modern era. Jim Rice and ARod don't fare well.

I was combing through all of my old
baseball cards when I came across something I had
forgotten all about. I remembered my 1955 Al Kaline, near pristine. I remembered my Brooks Robinson collection, which includes every card he was on but the elusive 1957 and 1967 cards. I remembered my 1954 Jackie Robinson. I forgot my tobacco cards.
From August 11-17, 2008, Johnstown, Pennsylvania will once

Considered one of the best amateur tournaments in the nation, plenty of scouts will be on hand to see the players age 20 and under from 16 cities from New Orleans to New York City. From 1978 to 1990 I served as tournament statistician and head scorer. In 1946, Johnstown was ...

Magglio Ordonez continues his excellent season by becoming
the only Detroit Tiger to hit two home runs
in the same inning since Al Kaline did it in 1955. How many other major league teams do you think now wish they would have taken the chance to sign him?
Summary: Magglio Ordonez led an eight-run surge by
the Tigers in the second inning, belting two homers
off Oakland's Dallas Braden in the same inning to help the Tigers take first place in the AL Central. Two of a kind: Ordonez joined Hall of Famer Al ...

They auctioned off everything in Tiger Stadium. Including
the urinal (urinal?!) from the old dugout.
In a perfect world, Tiger Stadium would never
have to be torn down and it would serve
as a landmark in Detroit. Unfortunately, the world isn't perfect, so it's not going to happen. So let's take this time to focus on the positives about the end of Tiger Stadium. I mean, if they weren't going to tear it down, we wouldn't be able to buy all this cool stuff !

Colin Kaline, the grandson of Hall of Famer
Al Kaline, was selected by the Tigers in the

Detroit also drafted Wade Lamont, the son of third-base coach Gene Lamont in the 29th round; Joel Zumaya's brother, Richard, in the 42nd round; and Nate Robertson's brother, Matt, in the following round.
Magglio Ordonez was simply trying to get an
opposite-field hit when he led off the second inning.
By the time the inning was over, Ordonez had two homers and a place alongside Al Kaline in Detroit Tigers lore.
LAKELAND, Fla. -- As promised, Brandon Inge is
