The Web's most popular Andy Marte news, videos, and blogs archive.
The Marte/Renteria deal was slammed by Braves fans.
However, it looks as though John Schuerholz once more
came out on top.
I'm with Scott on this one. The Twins
aren't trying to win. Pohlad is a cheap bastard.
THere's no reason they couldn't acquire someone.
A huge win for the Indians last night,
but there’s bound to be some missed games after
this one. First off, this entire situation was started by Gary Sheffield. Was he upset that it didn’t hit him in his elbow armor? Alas, dude leaves with a bloody nose ...
Speaking out for the Boston Red Sox today
is MVN founder and columnist for MVN’s Red Sox’
blog, Fire Brand of the American League, Evan Brunell. Check out Evan’s thoughts on why the Red Sox shouldn’t have made a move, why Andy Marte is a bigger bust than Coco Crisp, how Tim Wakefield may be the key to the Sox return to the playoffs, and what the Sox have to do to return to World Series...
Hee Seop-Choi - where are you!!!???
Rays 8, Indians 4 (box) Indians 5, Bisons
2 (box) Curve 4, Aeros 3 (box) Pelicans 4,
Indians 3 (box) From the looks of things above, it wasn’t a good night to be involved with the Clevleland Indians in any shape or form. Starting things off with the big league team, all you need to know is “13.” As in...
It is worth noting, though, that for Marte
to meet the expectations of his supporters (of which
I was certainly one) he had to get a lot better than he currently was at 19.
WFNY readers have been playing GM for the
Cavaliers since the playoffs ended. Well Tribe fans, the
‘off-season’ has come early for this year’s team. So we want your help. We will take a look at the Indians roster and determine who we should try and trade, who deserves an extension, and who we should...
Pagliarulo provides scouting reports on some players who
you might be considering with your draft.
Everywhere you look these days, it’s NCAA hoops.
You cannot help but to catch some of the
MAC Tournament action, given that it’s in our back yard. It’s looking like a Kent State University versus Akron University finals, which is more than sure to draw a solid crowd today. Neither team had a cakewalk to...
It’s hard to imagine that six shutout innings
of four-hit baseball (along with 11 strikeouts) would be
bringing an ERA down to 10.12, but last night’s win is something that I’d rather embrace and move forward than focus on the previous outings. Kansas City has now lost five straight games after scorching right out of the...
My feelings towards what Brandon Phillips has done
since his departure down Route 71 couldn’t be more
apparent over the course of the last several weeks. For the last few years, I’ve sat back and hoped that the kid that never seemed to progress in Cleveland was just a fluke in Cincinnati. I mean, he was once one [...]
You mean besides everyone? I went to a
Dayton Dragons game last night. They are the low
A affiliate of the Reds. It was entertaining enough, they lost 10-8. The game featured 30 hits and more than 13 pitchers. When I got home I checked the Tribe score on the net, and was surprised to see [...]’…
It always happens. The minute we’re ready to
write a guy off, he comes through with a
huge game. We decide to give Andy Marte an “extended look” at third base to see what he can do. Casey Blake puts up seven RBI. Ryan Garko puts up a .224 average in the month of April...

Breaking ground about a year ago, we finally
have some updated pictures of the main stadium in
Goodyear, Arizona from which the Indians will play their spring training baseball. I’m unsure if they have finalized a capacity to this point, but I do know that the inside looks pretty, pretty nice.
Is it just me or have the Indians
used Travis Hafner in an inordinate amount of promotions
this year. First, it was the “spend $48 in the team shop and get two ‘free’ tickets” promotion. Now I see that they have ticket packages creatively named after our designated hitter.
1992. The Cold War officially came to an
end. NAFTA was signed. Bill Clinton elected President for
first term. Stamps cost .29. Silence of the Lambs wins Oscar for Best Picture. Duke beats Michigan to win the Final Four. The Redskins beat the Bills in the Superbowl. And the Indians win the season series against...
Indians 13, Rangers 9 (box) Man, we sure
do put up runs against these Texas Rangers. Without
a doubt, they’re putting up their share as well, but we’re like a different team when we lock horns with these guys. Part of me wants to point the finger at the fact that Texas is typically
With all of this talk regarding the Indians
and the potential to be the future owners of
former members of the New York Yankees, I present to you the ironically-timed announcement from the Indians Media Relations department: The Cleveland Indians announced they have signed 3B MORGAN ENSBERG to a minor league contract ...
