When I was a kid, my dad was
my coach. He showed me how to hit and
play football. But my dad hated crowds and traffic, and so he didn’t take me to games very often. That was where my mom stepped up to the plate. My first Cavs game at the Richfield Colosseum? Mom....
Each week The Bottom Line takes a look
at the upcoming opponents for the Boston Red Sox.
This week the Sox head to Baltimore for a two game set with the Orioles. Then they return home for some interleague action with the Milwaukee Brewers.
Foley was promoted to the big-league Cubs for
the 1994 season but was let go after a
disappointing, strike-shortened season, which the Cubs went 49-64 in. So in 1995, Foley, given his success at the Triple-A level, was hired by the Baltimore Orioles to manage their affiliate in Rochester.

It appears the Tampa Bay Rays may finally
be on their way to draining the swamp the
organization has been mired in since its inception in 1998. For the record the Rays have won 70 games once in their 10 seasons, even with Lou Piniella at the helm for three of those seasons.
In the eighth of a 10-part series, the
author takes an in-depth look at Major League Baseball
history from 1971 to 1980. This is pretty much a one-topic issue: the 1970s. It takes us up to 1980, so just two decades to go in this series. I found that writing about the Seventies was just as much fun as the Sixties.
Dana Eveland has been one of the prospects
taken in the haul for Dan Haren. Billy Beane
has shown once again why he continues to win year after year. Last nights game against Baltimore is indicative of why he has become a must start for the Oakland A's and fantasy baseball managers alike. Inside, I show the differences in his performance by using the most detailed data yet.
