For the first six innings yesterday Ben Sheets
pitched lights-out and it appeared that if the offense
could just tally a single run, they would take the game and series. That thought went up in flames in the top of the seventh. Sheets gave up six hits and six runs while only recording one out in the inning. The Brewers trailed 6-0 and Sheets was out of the game.

The Brewers lost to the Cardinals on Saturday,
5-3. Although Eric Gagne didn’t blow another save, he
did take the loss, his second of the season, after allowing the Cardinals to load the bases and score two in the top of the ninth. Gagne walked one and gave up three hits in his only inning of work.

Quick review for those uninformed: Yovani Gallardo was
lost for the year on Friday due to a
torn ACL and the Brewers proceeded to blow two leads to the Astros Friday and Saturday night. Ben Sheets took the mound for the Crew on Sunday in what seemed to be a must win for the team. Sheets struggled again and gave up a season high four runs in only 6 1/3 innings.
