Ozzie Guillen gets a bad rap with the
Chicago and national media, but the fact is, he
knows more about baseball than Jay Mariotti or Bud Selig. You may not agree with me, but keep in mind that the best managers in the game all act the same way - Guillen, Pinella, Sciosia, Leyland, LaRussa. It's no coincidence. Managers are much more important than the media would have you believe.

bad enough but if the 2008 All-Star Game had
ended in a tie or turned into a farce with position players pitching it would have been yet another black eye for a sport that has seen plenty of them during Commissioner Bud Selig's reign.

last night at 1:37 a.m.? That was a giant
sigh of relief from Bud Selig. Selig was having flashbacks of the 2002 game, which ended in a tie gave him the lame "This Time It Counts" idea. Because having homefield should be decided by a July exhibition between dozens of players who won’t make the playoffs. Brilliant.

You may not know, if you’ve never seen
the Mariners take batting practice, is that Ichiro can
