Minnesota Twins center fielder Carlos Gomez was immobilized and taken from the field on a cart after crashing into the padded wall while making a spectacular catch in the first inning of Friday night's game against the Cleveland Indians.

After struggling throughout his first season in 1999, former Minnesota Twins center fielder Torii Hunter was demoted to triple-A in the middle of the 2000 season. Twins need to re-think their leadoff spot

What is the job of a leadoff hitter? What qualities are needed for a player to be a leadoff hitter? If you ask 10 scouts you might get 10 different answers but I guarantee that you will here two things on each ballot: patience and plate discipline. Neither one of those two things are part of Carlos Gomez’s game.
