The Yankees, with this afternoon's 3-1 loss to
the Mets, have concluded their 2008 Interleague schedule (until
July 10's makeup game in Pittsburgh). The Yankees finished this portion of the schedule with a record of 10-7, helping them get to six games over .500 as they swept Houston and San Diego. They also lost one of their best pitchers.
It is safe to say that I rarely
agree with Hank Steinbrenner, who is part of the
new New York Yankees braintrust (does that qualify as an oxymoron?). However, I share his sentiment about National League baseball. The senior circuit needs to incorporate the designated hitter. Steinbrenner would like to see the DH added in the National League for selfish purposes. Chien-Ming Wang is out ...

Only the most optimistic observer would have predicted

The calls started just after Chien-Ming Wang was

Steven White , a Triple-A pitcher, has been
removed from the 40-man roster, according to the Post's
Joel Sherman . He passed through waivers and will remain with the team. White has struggled this season, going 4-4 with a 6.61 ERA in 64 innings. He has split his time between the rotation and bullpen, and obviously hasn't been successful at either.

Pushed to get creative after staff ace Chien-Ming

From Peter Abraham : “I think we’re going

Losing Wang hurts us, he’s our ace, but the good news is it looks like he’s going to be back before the end of the season, and I know we’ll need him. “We’ve had a lot of injuries this year and every one of them’s upsetting, ...

There was plenty of speculation that Ian Kennedy
would make his return to the New York Yankees
on June 27th. That day the Yankees will be playing a split-stadium, day-night doubleheader against the New York Mets. Even with the recent injury to Chien-Ming Wang, the team has decided against rushing the youngster back, instead opting to make sure he’s healthy for the long haul.

The honest opinon of one Met fan as
they go through a rough year.
The Yankees have long been prepared for the
