Joba Chamberlain was overly excited when he struck
out David Dellucci to end the eighth inning at
Yankee Stadium on Thursday. Joba pumped his fist in excitement and it didn't sit well with the Indians.
Good riddance to the Cleveland Indians, who can
take their racist, cartoon caps and their Joba Chamberlain
bashing and go home now.

Cecil Fielder, Kevin McReynolds... does Hafner share his
fate with these guys?
M-Crash asked me this morning to check Derek
Jeter's VORP, so I did. Here is his ranking
among shortstops (13th overall). Here is his overall ranking (tied for 124th with J.D. Drew). Of course, of course, it's still early, and...
The Florida Marlins won their third game in
a row last night, defeating the Brewers 6-2. The
mini-streak has the Marlins tied for 1st in the NL East with the Phillies at 19-14. The game was seen by a whopping 10,405 people, filling nearly a third of Dolphins Stadium.
Sure, Paul Byrd served up a few long
balls. Sure, Byrd allowed eight hits in six and
one-third innings. Sure, Byrd struck out nary a batter in yesterday’s 6-3 loss. How can’t it be his fault that the Tribe didn’t pull a sweep of the Bronx Bloated Wallets? Look no further than the top of the
Only 48 hours after the Cleveland Indians designated
Jason Michaels and his negative batting average for assignment,
the Associated Press reports that the Tribe has traded Michaels and some cash to the Pittsburgh Pirates for the ever-coveted “player to be named later.”
As mentioned yesterday, Joe Borowski was taking to
the hill for a short bullpen session in attempt
to return from his injured triceps. Well, it appears that MLB.com was on the scene and that things went A-OK.

Joba Chamberlain put on quite a show after
striking out David Dellucci in the eighth inning A
bit over-the-top, some thought, considering the score wasn’t that close. >
Wallowing as they are in the sea of
mediocrity that currently represents much of Major League Baseball,
the Yankees left town Thursday - appropriately - a .500 team after finally getting to flex their home run muscles against the Indians.
(or: Enough with the Pyrotechnics already) Understandable frustrated.
A term you can use to explain anyone rooting
for - or employed by - the Cleveland Cavaliers. Just a quick look at the box score and you have one of the bigger mismatched quarter-by-quarter games in recent memory. Not surprising though, given the Cavs’ knack for coming...
The Yankees played home run derby Thursday, with
Giambi, Johnny Damon, Robinson Cano and Wilson Betemit connecting
in a 6-3 victory over the Cleveland Indians. Mike Mussina (5-3) won his fourth straight start.

NEW YORK -- Robinson Cano and Jason Giambi,
a couple of Yankees who have been struggling at
the plate, found some life in their bats on Thursday and helped their team get out of town on a winning note with a 6-3 victory over the Indians. Cano ...

After taking Joba Chamberlain deep on Tuesday to
give the Indians a 5-3 lead, David Dellucci struck
out on a nasty slider to end the eighth inning Thursday afternoon, prompting the pictured reaction. This was Chamberlain's first appearance since that outing, and, for at least today, he didn't show that it bothered him. He didn't walk anyone and three all but three pitches for strikes.
