Dan Shaughnessy Archive |
The Web's most popular Dan Shaughnessy news, videos, and blogs archive.
At some point in probably like 1974 or
so, comedians everywhere, in a sort of collective unconscious
kind of way, all started talking about how hard bags of airline peanuts were to open. This led jokes about that subject to become something people in ...
Dan Shaughnessy punting game? Anyone?
The Boston Red Sox and general manager Theo
Epstein are close to completing a contract extension according
to an email from Red Sox owner John Henry. Terms have yet to be released and "lawyers are handling the details," according to the email from Henry.
Emotion may have not been a role in
the Manny Ramirez trade, but I think Shaun Payne
is WAY off in his evaluation of the Manny, Jason Bay deal. Payne suggestion that the Sox got the better end of the deal is ludicrous. To me Bay is an above average player who has ZERO expereince in any big games. Sure Manny is getting up there in age but he is still one of the most feared players in the game.
The embattled, shy and reserved Curt Schilling was
one out from pitching his first career "No-Hitter" yesterday.
Oh, the thoughts of what was racing through his mind. This is our comedic guess at what he thinking.
FJM points out the inane idiocy that is
CHB. Nobody skewers the morons better.
We read him so you don't have to.
A RECENT SHAUGHNESSY SAMPLER MAY 13, 2007 “The
SS Red Sox keeps rolling on a (Charles) river.
With any luck the Sox soon will overtake the Milwaukee Brewers juggernaut and own the best record in baseball. To use a time-tested analogy, the Sox are ...
Winning isn't the only thing By Dan Shaughnessy,
Globe Columnist | October 27, 2007
I don't understand why a writer for the
Boston Globe dislikes the Boston Red Sox and their
Fans so much. I have stopped reading his column, but after reading a few blogs I felt the need to find out what he had written now. Well I found out, he wrote ...
Dan Shaughnessy punting game
Despite being a high-profile member of the Boston
Sports Media, Dan Shaughnessy is rarely on the BC
fan radar. It wasn't until I found out that he was writing a book about his son (current BC Baseball player Sam Shaughnessy) that I pursued him for ...
Curt Schilling has a club- and you're not
invited! Unless your name is Rob Bradford (Herald), Steve
Buckley (Herald), Sean McAdam (ProJo), Jeff Goldberg (Hartford Courant), Dan Roche (CBS-TV 4), or Don Orsillo (NESN), you were not invited to ...
It just won't end. Everything was finally wrapped
up. Manny's in LA and Brett's in New York.
We could all go back to our regular programming but Bud Selig had to show up a day late and a dollar short so he could start poking around like a pig searching for truffles with no sense of smell. Of course it would be a kosher pig. I'm no Mel Gibson. Dan Shaughnessy writes that Bud has ordered his ...
Yeah, the Indians beat the Red Sox. Again.
My favorite part of the evening came when Manny
Ramirez hit a solo home run in the sixth. Boston trailed in the series, 2-1, and in the game, 7-2, when he hit his blast. Dan Shaughnessy explains the rest ...
Boston Globe columnists Bob Ryan and Dan Shaughnessy
offer their takes on the Celtics' 88-79 victory over
the Detroit Pistons in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals at the TD Banknorth Garden. Ryan: Globe columnist Bob Ryan talks about...
By David Scott Boston Sports Media Watch With
a week to digest the rather compelling WEEI.com news
that Shots led the way on late last week, it’s clearly time for a Winners and Losers edition of “As the Boston Sports Media Market ...
It’s been a yearly ritual in Boston since
2003 to devote a days worth of ink to
Anti-Manny propaganda. Unlike Patriots Day in Massachusetts — an annual holiday held each April — nobody can quite precisely pinpoint this recent phase. The Red Sox first put Manny on waivers in 2003, sparking an outrageously opinionated war between Manny Fans and Not Manny Fans.
As predicted in this space , Curt Schilling
has taken to the blog format as quickly as
Britney Spears checks out of rehab clinics. Schilling reported on his blog that Jonathan Papelbon would be the Red Sox's closer before the Red Sox officially ...
The most acerbic athlete blogging on the net
is, without question, Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling.
Especially when the topic is Boston Globe columnist Dan Shaughnessy . Just so you’re not confused, in his most recent blog entry, Schilling ...
