The Boston Red Sox announced this afternoon that
they have placed Mike Lowell on the 15-day disabled
list with a strained right oblique. To replace Lowell on the 25-man roster, they have recalled David Pauley from Pawtucket. No word on how Pauley will be used by the Red Sox but I’d guess that he will make the start on Sunday against the Toronto Blue Jays.

We will get our first look at the
knuckleball of Charlie Zink who will be making his
Major League Baseball debut tonight. Zink’s put a pretty good season together down with the PawSox as he was 13-4 with a 2.89 ERA in 25 starts. The 13 wins ties him with him with PawSox teammate David Pauley for most in the International League.
