For all intents and purposes, Billingsley was the
Dodgers' staff ace about a month ago, but now
i'm ready to make it official. No other Dodger starter really comes that close to the numbers he's put up this season, and that's regardless of how much "veteran presence" Derek Lowe and Brad Penny may have. This isn't a "staff ace by default" situation either. The Dodgers have the best team ERA...

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Derek Lowe had a
perfect game through 6 innings tonight at Dodger Stadium.
LA’s Matt Kemp hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 6th to stake Lowe to a 1-0 lead at Chavez Ravine. Gregor Blanco of the Atlanta Braves singled to lead off the 7th and end the perfect game and no-hit bid.
