Two of the greatest home run under-producers of all time were teammates: Kirby Puckett and Gary Gaetti in 1984. Puckett hit no home runs (-16), Gaetti hit only 5 (-19). Suggesting the possibility that the Twins’ two titles may have been aided by their team being among the first to discover…well, I’d better not go there. Nor will I point out that Gaetti was bald and had acne and Puckett died young.

Gary Gaetti helped turn two triple plays in one game. He homered in each of his first two playoff at-bats. He led the Twins to their first championship in 1987 but also helped two other clubs reach October. He's currently batting coach for the Durham Bulls and has a son knocking on the major league door. Gaetti took some time to discuss his playing days and current coaching duties with B & C.
