retiring after 41 years. "Minor possesses two Met World Series championship rings from 1969 and 1986, and many players on the latter team - Dwight Gooden, Wally Backman, Lenny Dykstra, Roger McDowell, Howard Johnson, etc. - were drafted based on Minor's cross-checking recommendations."
