With the Yankee's self-imposed deadline approaching, the Twins
and Yankees were getting nowhere Monday night in their
attempt to complete a deal for Johan Santana. The sticking point? Yankees' pitcher Ian Kennedy.
Yankees Rookie Pitcher Ian Kennedy is scheduled to
be married on October 6th. Which is a problem
if the Yankees hold onto the WildCard and make the playoffs.

David Cone made his triumphant return to the
YES Network broadcast booth on Wednesday night. Unfortunately for
all of us who want to hear more HILARIOUS things come out of his mouth, I doubt Coney will have a job much longer. Video of Cone's gaffe on NYYSI.
So the Yankees have let Johan Santana pass
to the Mets and smartly bet the future on
Phil Hughes , 21, Joba Chamberlain , 21, and Ian Kennedy , 23. Throw in Chien Ming Wang , 27, and the Yankees have the bulk of their starts covered for years. Now ...
By GEORGE A. KING III Yankees’ fans will
not see Kei Igawa the sequel, at least not
any time soon. Ian Kennedy will be called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to pitch in the opening game of the Subway Series against...
Joe Girardi said just a few minutes ago
that RHP Joba Chamberlain would open the season in
the bullpen. He left open the possibility that Chamberlain will move into the rotation later this season. “His future will be as a starter,” ...
Nike. The goddess of victory. The "Swoosh". The
aura. They are Phil Knight and Bob Bowerman. It
is life "inside the berm", and "Just Do It." We are, of course, talking about Nike, the global footwear and apparel company that is truly a $16 billion empire.
Pags has tough words for the Yankees and
Rich Hill.
So, what do the Yankees do with Ian
Kennedy now? It’s obvious his short stint at AAA
Scranton didn’t help him. The Kennedy who was banished to Scranton after a dismal start to his season was pretty much the same Kennedy who returned Thursday. In other words, he still stinks. Maybe we should just call Kennedy "Four A." Too good four Triple A, not good enough for the big leagues.

Are the Red Sox unhappy with the role
of MLB Advanced Media (MLBAM) ? Have they come
to regard BAM as a competitor and not a partner? Recent actions and words indicate that the two have fundamental disagreements on the matters of secondary ticketing and media rights. Are these differences about who is best positioned to maximize on these revenues or how these revenues should be divided? ...
Kennedy.jpg So much for lacking confidence. Ian Kennedy
sounded Tuesday night like a man who desperately wants
another crack at big league hitters. “I’m trying to say it humbly, but it doesn’t matter what I say, it’s going to come out ...
With Darrell Rasner having to be added to
the 40-man roster to start this afternoon, Ian Kennedy
has been optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Brian Bruney has been moved to the 60-day disabled list. Kennedy is 0-2 with an 8.37 ERA in six games (five starts). The Yankees are 1-5 whenever Kennedy has appeared on the mound this season, so this is the right move.
Spent some time with Ian Kennedy this morning
and he was telling me about his house in
Henderson, Nev., right outside of Las Vegas. Jason Giambi lives in Las Vegas, so I asked IPK whether he had hung out with the Big G this winter. Turns out he ...

Kennedy) contest! The winner wins tickets to a Yankees game in April and a Yankees DVD set!
Pags argues that there's nothing wrong with Kennedy.
Hard to agree with that given his ERA, but
he makes some good points about the Yankees rushing him.
From Peter Abraham’s LoHud Yankees Blog, here is
Ian Kennedy’s line while pitching for Scranton Monday night.
* 7.1 IP, 1 hit, 0 runs 0 walks, 8 strikeouts. Kennedy threw 90 pitches, 58 for strikes. Thanks for nothing there, Ian! Chad Jennings, SWB beat writer for the Times-Tribune said in his blog that Kennedy made Charlotte’s hitters “look like dopes.” So, what did that prove?
What to do for an encore? Chamberlain dominated
three levels of the Minors, went to the Futures
Game and made it to the big leagues as a high-impact short reliever -- a new role for him -- in his first season of pro ball. He was largely unhittable at ...

For the 2008 New York Yankees, the most
important young pitcher is not Joba Chamberlain, nor is
it Phil Hughes; it’s Ian Kennedy. Chamberlain and Hughes receive more media attention and both could be future aces. But by virtue of being older (23) ...
