Nike. The goddess of victory. The "Swoosh". The aura. They are Phil Knight and Bob Bowerman. It is life "inside the berm", and "Just Do It." We are, of course, talking about Nike, the global footwear and apparel company that is truly a $16 billion empire.

 'Four A' Kennedy still stinks
'Four A' Kennedy still stinks
So, what do the Yankees do with Ian Kennedy now? It’s obvious his short stint at AAA Scranton didn’t help him. The Kennedy who was banished to Scranton after a dismal start to his season was pretty much the same Kennedy who returned Thursday. In other words, he still stinks. Maybe we should just call Kennedy "Four A." Too good four Triple A, not good enough for the big leagues.

 Kennedy demoted
Kennedy demoted
With Darrell Rasner having to be added to the 40-man roster to start this afternoon, Ian Kennedy has been optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Brian Bruney has been moved to the 60-day disabled list. Kennedy is 0-2 with an 8.37 ERA in six games (five starts). The Yankees are 1-5 whenever Kennedy has appeared on the mound this season, so this is the right move.

Ian Kennedy is great … at AAA
From Peter Abraham’s LoHud Yankees Blog, here is Ian Kennedy’s line while pitching for Scranton Monday night. * 7.1 IP, 1 hit, 0 runs 0 walks, 8 strikeouts. Kennedy threw 90 pitches, 58 for strikes. Thanks for nothing there, Ian! Chad Jennings, SWB beat writer for the Times-Tribune said in his blog that Kennedy made Charlotte’s hitters “look like dopes.” So, what did that prove?
