Peavy, Padres Put an End to Brewers Eight-Game Winning Streak

San Diego starter Jake Peavy pitched a four-hitter through seven innings as the Padres beat Milwaukee 3-2. Peavy allowed one run and walked three as he struck out eight. Peavy surrendered the first run of the game when Mike Cameron singled in Bill Hall to make it 1-0 in the seventh inning. The Padres answered with three in the home half of the seventh. Ben Sheets was cruising right along until he hit a major roadblock. San Diego's first run came when Tadahito Iguchi hit an RBI single to left to score Kevin Kouzmanoff. The next batter Brian Myrow then hit a sac fly to left to score Chase Headley and make it a 2-1 game. Iguchi then scored two batters later when Jody Gerut hit a two-out single to right to make it 3-1. The Brew Crew didn't go down quietly though. In the ninth, with one out, Mike Cameron hit a solo shot to left off closer Trevor Hoffman. The Brewers now drop to 70-52 and currently stand four games back of the Chicago Cubs and three and a half ahead of the Cardinals in the NL Wild ...
