The Right Man for the (Closer) Job
By Craig Brown...With a collective ERA of 5.63, Cleveland’s bullpen was already a mess before Joe Borowski landed on the DL. Borowski isn’t the dominant closer in the same vein of a Goose Gossage or Mariano Rivera. Of course, that isn’t news to anyone. Last season, despite leading the league with 45 saves, he had a 5.07 ERA and an ERA+ of 91.
