Joey Devine was the Braves #1 overall draft
pick in the 1st round of the 2005 amateur...
draft (27th overall). Devine was a closer at NC State for 3 years and therefore was considered to be one of the more advanced pitchers in the draft, along with Craig Hansen who was taken right before Devine. They both made it to the majors in 2005 but neither has lived up to their lofty expectations.
